About the Role
APM New Zealand is inviting expressions of interest from Psychologists looking to join their team in Dunedin or Queenstown. Positions are available for full-time or part-time employment, working onsite. The roles contribute to ACC services, encompassing both mental injury and neuropsychological assessments as well as evidence-based treatment programs including Psychological Services, Pain Management, Concussion Care, and Training for Independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as CBT, ACT, EMDR, and trauma-informed therapies focusing on functional rehabilitation and outcomes-driven treatment in treatment-only roles.
- Conduct mental injury (MICPI, WRMI) and neuropsychological assessments, ensuring ACC-compliant reporting and independent psychological evaluations including diagnosis, causation, and functional impact for assessment-only roles.
- Manage reasonable caseloads across various ACC contracts like Sensitive Claims, Psychological Services, Training for Independence, Pain Management, as well as police and private referrals.
- Provide high-quality clinical assessments, write comprehensive reports, and engage collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams supporting client treatment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Master's degree or higher accredited by the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
- Current registration with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand and an active Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Experience delivering a broad range of evidence-based talking therapies, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, Schema Therapy, and ACT.
- Strong skills in formulation, documentation, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and independent work capabilities with effective time management.
- For neuropsychological roles: postgraduate neuropsychology training and vocational registration as a clinical or neuropsychologist, along with graduate-level coursework in neuropsychology.
- Training in psychopathology and diagnostic frameworks such as DSM-5-TR or ICD 10/11.
Professional Credentials and Other Requirements
- Must hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate and be registered before commencing employment.
- Possession of a current full New Zealand driver license.
- New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.
