ASC Pty Ltd is Australia's premier submarine company, responsible for constructing, sustaining, and upgrading the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines. The company is now delivering the Life of Type Extension program to prolong the service life of these vessels. Additionally, ASC has been selected to sustain and co-build Australia's future nuclear-powered submarines, marking the country’s largest and most complex industrial project.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Scheduler to join our team and support the program's successful delivery. Reporting to the Principal Scheduler, this permanent full-time position is based either in Osborne, South Australia or Henderson, Western Australia. The role involves providing expert project scheduling advice and technical support to project managers within a complex engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and review submarine maintenance activities comprehensively.
  • Document sequencing of tasks, dependencies, estimated durations, and resource allocations.
  • Create detailed project schedules and identify the critical path.
  • Monitor and control project activities during planning and execution phases.
  • Update task information and status by gathering data from multiple sources.
  • Reschedule activities as needed in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Communicate scheduling trends and insights to Project Managers and teams.
  • Produce thorough schedule analyses tailored for relevant stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • At least three years of scheduling and project planning or control experience within complex projects, preferably in defence, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering sectors.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera or equivalent software.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, able to effectively manage and analyze complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles in program or project contexts.
  • Experience with Power BI is highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities related to cost and schedule performance and reporting.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid National Police Clearance and be eligible for or possess an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Maintaining security clearance status is essential for employment.
