About the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB)
The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, dedicated to strengthening Singapore's status as a global hub for business, innovation, and talent. EDB engages in investment promotion and industry advancement by collaborating with both international and local enterprises, facilitating access to government incentives, connections, and relevant information that fuel sustainable economic growth and job creation in Singapore.
About New Ventures
The New Ventures team at EDB is focused on addressing technological disruptions and evolving business models by assisting companies in developing new revenue generations and building new ventures. This team champions corporate venture building, supporting founders with venture creation and growth, co-investing in early-stage ventures, and enabling the scaling and community building efforts necessary to advance corporate venturing ecosystems in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer administrative support and conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative research to assist senior team members.
- Support due diligence processes by preparing and reviewing necessary materials.
- Prepare documents for meetings with companies, founders, and investors both before and after sessions.
- Monitor and review documentation submissions to ensure compliance with investment guidelines and internal policies.
- Manage performance tracking and incentives reporting for portfolio companies.
- Maintain updated databases and ensure accurate documentation and file management.
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and arrangements for team meetings and business trips.
- Organize and manage event calendars and logistics for founder community engagements.
- Create sales and engagement materials to assist in connecting with founders.
- Participate in operational tasks including the Business Continuity Plan implementations.
- Identify and implement process improvements or adopt new tools to enhance team operations.
- Engage independently with external clients or partners for management and liaison activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of academic or professional qualifications in Business Administration, Event Management, Communications, or Risk Management is preferred.
- A minimum of three years' relevant work experience.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and internet applications.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills with a proactive, positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate deliverables.
- Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic environments and ambiguity.
- Fluent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Singaporean nationality is required.
