Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Officer (all genders) to contribute to the successful execution of an innovative, cross-department pilot programme focused on mediation support, policy advocacy, and organisational growth. The role involves close collaboration with various teams within the organisation to facilitate smooth programme operation and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with organising and overseeing programme activities such as meetings, events, workshops, and travel schedules.
  • Ensure smooth programme administration by aiding with procurement, contract management, and financial procedures in line with organisational guidelines.
  • Keep meticulous programme records and manage knowledge systems to guarantee accurate documentation, timely filing, and easy access to information.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, or a comparable discipline.
  • Initial professional experience in project cycle management and administrative tasks.
  • Preferably prior internship or relevant work experience in peacebuilding, mediation, civil society, or international cooperation within conflict-affected environments.
  • Valued experience collaborating with or in proximity to locally driven peacebuilding or civil society entities particularly in Global South regions.
  • Strong competencies in writing, information synthesis, and communication.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with a talent for multitasking effectively.
  • Outstanding intercultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with additional software or data management and AI tools is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages pertinent to Berghof's scope of work is a plus.
