Product Logistics Director

Role Summary

The Product Logistics Director holds a pivotal leadership position tasked with managing the seamless movement of products throughout the entire supply chain. This role integrates efforts across product planning, sourcing, warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, and final delivery, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives regarding availability, delivery speed, cost efficiency, and service quality.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and execute logistics strategies governing product transit, inventory management, and distribution network coverage.
• Synchronize logistics operations with product launch timelines, demand forecasts, and targeted service levels.
• Supervise all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics encompassing warehousing, freight handling, last-mile delivery, and returns management.
• Maintain product availability in appropriate quantities at precise locations and times.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, procurement, operations, finance, and customer service to coordinate launches and adapt to demand fluctuations.
• Manage partnerships with vendors, carriers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and fulfillment services to ensure operational continuity.
• Optimize inventory balance to control carrying costs while enhancing service performance and reducing stockouts, delays, damages, and excess logistics costs.
• Drive improvements in logistics processes, reporting, and system capabilities for planning and tracking product movement, including implementation of standard operating procedures, automation, and performance monitoring tools.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply, transportation, customs, capacity constraints, and vendor reliability, establishing contingency plans for disruptions and urgent shortages.
• Lead and develop logistics, supply chain, and operations teams, setting clear objectives, fostering accountability, and promoting continuous enhancement cultures.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses over 15 years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain management, operations, or product operations.
• Expertise in inventory planning, transportation logistics, warehousing solutions, and distribution management.
• Demonstrated ability managing complex cross-functional initiatives and external logistics partnerships.
• Strong capabilities in analytics, commercial decision-making, and problem-solving.
• Holds a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a relevant discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
