About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Principal or Senior Associate Secondary Engineer to join our New Zealand team. This role involves working with a diverse client base including utilities, independent power producers, industrial operations, and governmental organizations. Your expertise will help guide clients through the complexities of modern power systems while supporting the shift towards more reliable and sustainable energy infrastructures. This position is ideal for a professional seeking career growth and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and supervise secondary systems for distribution and transmission networks ranging from 22kV to 220kV, including conducting rigorous design reviews.
- Produce comprehensive engineering documentation such as control and relay panel layouts, schematics, operational diagrams (ODJB), block diagrams, drawings, and bills of materials.
- Lead cross-disciplinary project teams, ensuring projects meet deadlines and stay within budget.
- Provide mentorship and foster professional development within the Substation Engineering team.
- Act as a trusted technical consultant to clients and support business growth initiatives across various regions.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in High Voltage Secondary Electrical Engineering.
- Competence with relay software packages like Enervista, PCM600, Digsi, and familiarity with CAD tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse geographic regions.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed of emerging industry technologies and practices.
- Current Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand (CMEngNZ) certifications.
