About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to design, develop, automate, and oversee enterprise-grade application platforms and cloud-native infrastructure. The role demands deep expertise in continuous integration and delivery, containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and platform automation, ensuring software delivery is secure, scalable, and dependable.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and support enterprise platform infrastructure and developer platforms.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the processes of application building, testing, deploying, and releasing.
- Deploy and oversee containerized applications through Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms.
- Adopt and implement GitOps methodologies for automated application deployment and infrastructure management.
- Automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Manage virtualization and cloud infrastructure environments efficiently.
- Monitor and enhance platform performance, availability, and reliability continuously.
- Work collaboratively with Development, DevOps, Security, and Operations teams to deliver scalable platform solutions.
- Apply best practices related to platform security, governance, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Prepare technical documents, operational runbooks, and deployment guidelines.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development and automation, preferably with GitLab or Jenkins.
- Experience using Argo CD to implement GitOps-driven application deployment.
- Familiarity with SonarQube for static code analysis and code quality checks.
- Knowledge of Renovate Bot or similar tools for dependency and automation management.
- Hands-on experience with Docker or Docker Compose for containerization purposes.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Oracle Kubernetes Engine, or Google Cloud Run for orchestration and deployment of cloud-native applications.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience managing virtualization and private cloud environments, with technologies like VMware vCenter or OpenStack.
- Strong Linux system administration and shell scripting skills.
- Understanding of cloud-native architectures including networking, security, and platform engineering best practices.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Helm or Kustomize for managing Kubernetes resources.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Understanding of secrets management with tools like HashiCorp Vault.
- Basic scripting or programming skills in Python or Go for automation tasks.
- Experience incorporating DevSecOps methodologies into platform engineering.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Between 3 and 12 years of practical experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation roles.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Expertise in designing and operating enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
- Strong grasp of GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native engineering principles.
- Experience leading enterprise DevOps and platform modernization initiatives.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent skills in communication, documentation, and managing stakeholders.
- Capability to build automated, scalable, secure, and highly available platform solutions.
