Role Overview
We are seeking a Plant Supervisor (m/f/d) to join our Ulbrich Europe Metals team in Remscheid, Germany. Please note the facility will relocate to Hückeswagen in October 2026. Ulbrich Europe Metals serves customers throughout Europe with high-performance nickel alloys, stainless steels, and specialty metals, operating from a 60,000-square-foot facility. The Plant Supervisor will lead production operations, foster team development, and spearhead safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all operational activities in the production facility.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Ensure quality, productivity, and delivery targets are met.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Maintain workplace safety and comply with regulations.
- Collaborate with executive management and international corporate functions.
- Oversee procurement of non-steel products, packaging supplies, and support equipment for seamless production.
- Supervise staff engaged in machining and processing various metals including stainless steel and specialty foils.
- Manage operations such as slitting, packaging, edging, and secondary processes.
- Authorize equipment repairs, request new tooling, and monitor departmental expenses to control costs.
- Participate in specifying new equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Service Providers to address equipment malfunctions and repairs.
- Document nonconforming product issues and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company quality system procedures related to functional responsibilities.
- Lead safety initiatives and identify unsafe conditions, taking corrective measures as needed.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to time, production, and other department operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven leadership experience in metal processing or comparable industrial manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
