Job Overview
The PF Civil (Projects) Engineer will be responsible for supporting the execution of civil construction activities associated with various projects within a cement manufacturing plant. This involves planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring construction, renovation, expansion, and infrastructure works to ensure projects meet timelines, quality standards, budgets, and safety protocols. The role supports operational and expansion needs of the plant while complying with regulatory and environmental standards.
About the Plant
Vikram Cement is a large integrated facility with a capacity of 3.0 million tonnes per annum, utilizing advanced global cement manufacturing technologies. Continuous infrastructure development, expansion, and modernization are key to the plant's operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage execution of civil projects including buildings, equipment foundations, roads, drains, retaining walls, storage and utility infrastructure.
- Develop project plans, schedules, resource estimates, and track progress against set timelines.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, and Project departments for smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, and standards.
- Oversee contractors' work, verify billing and documentation, and coordinate with procurement for timely materials and service availability.
- Monitor contractor adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Ensure civil works meet Indian Standards (IS codes), design specifications, and quality requirements including concrete, steel, masonry, and finishing work.
- Conduct inspections, quality testing via approved labs, and maintain documentation.
- Control costs by monitoring budgets, optimizing construction methods, reducing material wastage, and supporting estimate preparations including BOQs and CAPEX proposals.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, conduct risk assessments, and ensure alignment with legal and company safety/environmental norms.
- Lead infrastructure and improvement projects such as township and plant utilities, water management, modernization, and structure rehabilitation.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen and TPM.
