Role overview
This remote contract position supports a large-scale 2026 PC refresh covering roughly 1,250 devices. Once training is complete, the technician is expected to handle about 25 device refreshes each week, which works out to approximately five PCs per day.
What you will do
- Reach out to associates based on the migration schedule.
- Arrange and carry out PC migration sessions, usually lasting between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours.
- Provide direct, hands-on help whenever users need it.
- Complete and record every assigned migration.
- Use OneDrive to move user data, including documents, files, and browser favorites, so the transition is smooth.
- Follow self-service guidance available through QR codes on the new devices, while also assisting users who need one-on-one support.
- Work through training in paired or small-group settings before taking on the full workload.
Required technical knowledge
- Comfort with Windows 10 and Windows 11, plus everyday Office tasks such as printer setup, network share access, and Outlook configuration.
- Understanding of multi-factor authentication.
- Ability to guide users through VPN connectivity using Zscaler.
- Experience installing approved software from a company application portal.
- Ability to add PST files to email when needed.
- Knowing when a problem should be escalated.
