This position requires attendance at the office for three days weekly, with the flexibility to be based in Munich or Berlin. For candidates residing elsewhere in Germany, remote work options are available.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
Working within our Customer Experience team, the Payroll Support Specialist ensures customers receive expert assistance with payroll inquiries, focusing on accuracy and timely responses. This role relies heavily on comprehensive payroll knowledge to manage complex cases, manual calculations, and quality assurance. Collaboration with cross-departmental teams is essential to improve internal processes and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert support for payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and system features.
- Maintain payroll procedures that adhere to company standards and external mandates.
- Keep abreast of regulations and advancements in payroll technology to inform improvements.
- Handle customer interactions through email, callbacks, and live chat with clarity and empathy.
- Support customers via self-service tools like help center articles and documentation.
- Manage and prioritize multiple customer requests effectively.
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Implementation, and Professional Services teams to resolve issues and develop solutions.
- Contribute to and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for internal teams and customers.
- Participate in projects aimed at enhancing payroll processes and customer support.
- Develop and update Help Center resources.
- Utilize analytical skills to identify gaps and propose innovative process improvements.
- Perform well under pressure during peak times and escalations.
- Engage in ongoing training to sustain advanced payroll and product expertise.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to provide high-quality support.
Candidate Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of payroll processing, compliance, and quality control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with professionalism in conflict resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex payroll challenges.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
- A strong collaborative approach with experience across different teams.
- Fluency in German at a native or C2 level and business-level English proficiency.
