Position Overview
This exceptional role is designed for an experienced Payroll Leader ready to oversee an extensive and multifaceted payroll operation, making significant organizational contributions. You will be responsible for managing payroll for over 10,000 employees across various locations, awards, and employment agreements, offering a dynamic environment for those passionate about payroll management, governance, and continuous enhancement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-achieving payroll team.
- Provide strategic direction for a complex payroll system spanning multiple sites.
- Enhance governance frameworks, compliance measures, internal controls, and process effectiveness.
- Identify and implement improvements in systems, workflows, and service delivery.
- Manage audits, payroll reconciliations, reporting, and compliance evaluations.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with senior management and external partners.
- Champion ongoing process improvements, automation initiatives, and the development of payroll capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced payroll leader with a background managing large payrolls and teams within complex settings.
- Currently functioning in leadership roles such as Payroll Manager, Payroll Operations Manager, Team Leader, or similar acting positions ready for advancement.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll operations, award conditions, and enterprise bargaining agreements (EBAs).
- Proven ability to lead extensive teams and coordinate payroll activities across multiple locations.
- Strong emphasis on governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Commitment to staff development and empowerment.
- Expertise in establishing structures, processes, and controls where necessary.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and influence.
- Embraces continuous improvement and confidently challenges existing practices.
