Its main workstreams include Roto-Keying, Match Move, Prep & Paint, and Rotomation, giving employees exposure to large-scale, world-class projects.
Role summary
The Paint Prepper will support the Prep & Paint workflow by cleaning, refining, and preparing visual assets for VFX finishing. The job focuses on removing unwanted items, correcting frame-level issues, and keeping shots visually consistent so they are ready for smooth compositing. This position is based on-site in Chennai and is a full-time studio role.
What you will do
- Prepare and enhance visual materials for the Prep & Paint stage of the VFX pipeline.
- Remove unwanted objects, clean up plates, and correct visual imperfections or artifacts.
- Maintain frame-to-frame consistency so the final output remains seamless.
- Carry out quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets production standards.
- Work closely with artists and supervisors while following project-specific directions.
- Meet delivery timelines and contribute to efficient production flow.
Skills and tools
- Practical paint and cleanup ability for visual effects work.
- Experience with defect correction and frame repair concepts.
- Strong visual accuracy and a careful eye for detail.
- Working knowledge of VFX paint tools such as Nuke, Photoshop, or similar software.
- Basic understanding of VFX production pipelines.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and collaborate in a team setting.
- Comfort working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Requirements
- Background in visual effects, digital media, animation, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant coursework or hands-on experience in paint or cleanup workflows is useful.
- Studio or production experience will be considered an advantage.
- Must be willing to work on-site in Chennai.
- Ability to adapt to changing tools and AI-assisted workflows.
