P6 Construction Scheduler

Position Overview

This role is based onsite in Houston, Texas, with potential travel up to 25% within Texas. The engagement spans 6 to 18 months. We are looking for a seasoned P6 Construction Scheduler to support expansive infrastructure projects, focusing on precise schedule development, maintenance, and analysis using Primavera P6. The candidate must have deep familiarity with contractual requirements, construction sequencing, schedule specifications, and overall project controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update integrated project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
• Review and interpret project contracts, specifications, and scheduling requirements.
• Understand and apply contractual milestones, completion obligations, owner deliverables, and schedule specifications.
• Develop logic-driven critical path method (CPM) schedules encompassing all construction phases.
• Analyze critical path activities, manage float consumption, evaluate schedule impacts, and identify project risks.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate schedule creation.
• Prepare comprehensive baseline, recovery, look-ahead schedules, and regular schedule updates.
• Track project progress and integrate field productivity data into forecast schedules.
• Conduct schedule variance analyses and propose corrective strategies.
• Support change management processes including delay analysis and time impact assessments.
• Produce detailed schedule reports, executive summaries, and dashboards for project leadership and clients.
• Ensure alignment of schedules with contractual terms, project execution strategies, procurement timelines, and commissioning phases.
• Participate actively in project meetings providing insight into schedule risks and corresponding mitigation plans.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or similar fields preferred; alternatively, a minimum of five years construction scheduling experience on large infrastructure projects is required.
• Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 software.
• Thorough expertise in Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
• Experience in creating and managing baseline schedules from project kickoff through to completion.
• Capability to interpret complex construction contracts, specifications, and scheduling demands.
• Proven skills in schedule updates, progress monitoring, and forecasting.
• Understanding of construction sequencing including procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center, mission-critical facilities, utility, industrial, transportation, or large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge in schedule delay analysis and assisting claims support.
• Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) and project control methodologies.
• Experience working within EPC, design-build, or Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, or equivalent reporting and visualization tools.
