About the Role
Purolator is hiring an Owner Operator (Courier) based in McBride, British Columbia. This role involves providing your own vehicle and serving a local route with roughly 35 to 40 stops each day across about 250 km.
Route and Vehicle Requirements
The position requires a cube van model year 2021 or newer, or an equivalent 1-ton cube van or similarly sized vehicle. The vehicle must be owned and maintained by the operator and kept to a high standard of appearance and working condition.
Key Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence must be maintained at all times, with no more than 4 demerit points.
- A clean driving abstract is required.
- Liability insurance and any other permits or licences required by law and Purolator standards must be in place.
- Valid WCB registration and coverage are required for both the owner operator and relief driver.
- A valid Dangerous Goods Handling Certificate is mandatory.
- The ability to collect and deliver all parcels assigned to the route, or as operationally needed, is essential.
- A criminal record check must be completed.
- The operator must meet and continue to meet Purolator’s standards.
- Membership in Teamsters Canada must be maintained.
Language Requirement
English proficiency is necessary, as the job involves frequent communication with multiple stakeholders in English.
Working Conditions
Work takes place on the road and in a warehouse environment.
