Operations Manager - Waste Management

About the Role

The Operations Manager in Waste Management plays a vital role assisting the Line Manager or Business Unit Head by guiding, developing, overseeing, and motivating team members engaged in back-office operations. This position ensures operational excellence and strict adherence to organizational policies. The role also focuses on cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, delivering outstanding customer service.

The manager collaborates with various teams, including those in operations, operations center managing work orders, fleet and manpower coordination, staff control, billing and recycling rebates, CSR activities, and safety training through EHSQ. Additionally, interactions with clients concerning service issues and monthly reporting, as well as government bodies for permits and NOCs, are essential parts of the duties.

The individual will formulate and oversee the implementation of company procedures related to waste collection, transport, and disposal, ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They are also responsible for developing departmental policies to meet set objectives, assessing progress, and conducting performance evaluations for both the team and individuals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Possess extensive experience of 10 to 12 years in relevant operations roles.
• Proficiency in English and Hindi communication; additional language skills are beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated focus on achieving results and customer satisfaction.
• Effective planning, organization, and coordination capabilities.
• Good computer literacy.
• Ability to operate effectively under pressure conditions.
• Experience specifically in waste management operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance regarding waste disposal.
