Operations Center Operator

Job Overview

The Operations Center Operator is tasked with managing operational activities such as developing shift operation schedules, analyzing pipeline capacity gaps, and consolidating operational reports to maintain the system's proper functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in operations systems, practices, cost efficiency, productivity, and overall effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards within the Water Transmission Company, including health, safety, security, risk management, and cybersecurity protocols.
• Promptly escalate and resolve problems to ensure timely closure of issues.
• Carry out work efficiently aligned with annual business plans, policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Assist in creating daily shift operation schedules considering demand forecasts, system capacities, shutdown plans, water supply quantities, and scheduled maintenance interruptions.
• Contribute to capacity gap analyses and help identify required skills to allocate internal teams or appoint external resources for optimal transmission system performance.
• Participate in investigating cases of encroachments, shutdowns, and performance deviations, supporting the development and implementation of mitigation plans.
• Coordinate between the Central and Local Control Rooms to ensure operations comply with established plans and standards.
• Help consolidate reports on operations, accidents, and shutdowns, and analyze schedule efficiency and performance.
• Support assessment of water quality, cooling systems, and pump oil system performance to detect any quality or efficiency gaps.
• Compare forecasted water consumption against actuals, document lessons learned, and assist in preparing reports for future forecasting.
• Assist in planning and designing rehabilitation and replacement projects for transmission system equipment.
• Resolve complex issues escalated from control rooms promptly to avoid operation disruptions.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental protocols to ensure workforce safety, regulatory compliance, and high service standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a diploma degree in technical or related fields.
