Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role demands in-depth expertise in Omnissa Horizon (previously VMware Horizon) architecture. This position is responsible for comprehensive oversight, advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring the overall health of the complete Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) ecosystem to maintain maximum platform uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Quickly identify and resolve user session issues such as delayed logins, disconnects, peripheral redirection challenges (USB/printers), and audio/video performance problems.
• Address user profile corruption, application state anomalies, and folder redirection errors, specifically within the Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) framework.
• Manage desktop pools (Instant Clones) by provisioning, updating, and balancing capacity to handle peak demand efficiently without exhausting resources.
• Enhance user experience over various network conditions by fine-tuning Blast Extreme and PCoIP protocols tailored for remote or bandwidth-limited users.
• Conduct proactive system monitoring utilizing Omnissa Intelligence and vRealize Operations (vROps) tools to detect and mitigate localized issues before causing system downtime.
