Role Overview
Renvolt is expanding its Operations & Maintenance site team in Ireland to support the ongoing performance of the Ballymoneen 139 MW solar power plant. This role requires the technician to be based near the site, ideally in or around the Galway area, so that urgent support and rapid response are possible.
The O&M Technician will report to the O&M Site Manager and will support both field and remote operations to keep the plant running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to faults through on-site and remote troubleshooting, and put recovery actions in place to restore generation.
- Perform specialist technical maintenance work at site.
- Take part in commissioning and start-up activities.
- Carry out technical inspections and assessments on site.
- Prepare technical evidence and reports to support claims.
- Deliver training sessions and technical workshops to strengthen maintenance knowledge across the team.
- Help improve maintenance processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Create technical documentation that supports maintenance tasks.
- Suggest better tools and more efficient maintenance methods.
- Share good practices and working standards.
- Support reliability studies and analysis of failures.
- Assist in tracking and auditing processes, procedures, and ongoing activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical qualification is required.
- Prior experience in commissioning and maintaining photovoltaic power plants is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with electronics and automation fault-finding and troubleshooting is needed.
- Knowledge of maintenance management, standards, and continuous improvement processes is expected.
- Experience with SCADA and remote-control systems is required.
- Experience with data acquisition and communications systems is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and reporting software skills are required.
- Strong English reading, writing, and speaking ability is mandatory.
- The role requires the ability to carry out physical work on site.
- A valid Irish driving licence is mandatory.
