Role overview
Walsall Council is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join the team in Walsall, West Midlands. This is a permanent, on-site position offering 37 hours per week and a salary of £40,754 to £43,042 per annum, along with a strong benefits package. The role is suited to an experienced carpenter who can also carry out a range of related trades and wants steady work with a good work-life balance.
What the role involves
- Carrying out a broad mix of carpentry work together with other trade tasks such as plumbing, plastering, and tiling.
- Completing everything from small repairs through to full replacements and installations.
- Working efficiently and to a high standard while using a handheld device to manage appointments and complete any necessary follow-up or administrative tasks.
- Keeping van stock at the agreed level and taking full ownership of the stock held in the vehicle.
- Looking after vehicles, tools, plant, equipment, and materials issued by the organisation.
- Following all health and safety requirements, including the correct use of PPE, risk assessments, and work instructions.
- Providing excellent customer service and working towards KPIs with a focus on resolving issues on the first visit where possible.
