About the Role
Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician within our fast-growing Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. This role offers planned, scheduled vehicle repair and servicing directly to members at their homes or workplaces, replacing unpredictable roadside callouts with structured, quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle servicing and in-depth repairs typically done in workshops.
- Utilize advanced mobile diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform vehicle safety checks following RAC standards.
- Offer members professional advice and recommendations based on inspections.
- Work according to a clear digital schedule with pre-booked appointments.
Work Schedule and Benefits
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week, core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, including every fourth Saturday.
- Competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings up to £52,000.
- Option for guaranteed overtime after the first month, with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.

Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Either an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) plus at least 2 years' experience, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
- Strong technical skills combined with excellent interpersonal abilities to provide reassurance and clear communication with members.
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to diverse tasks.
