About the Role

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician within our fast-growing Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. This role offers planned, scheduled vehicle repair and servicing directly to members at their homes or workplaces, replacing unpredictable roadside callouts with structured, quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine vehicle servicing and in-depth repairs typically done in workshops.
  • Utilize advanced mobile diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform vehicle safety checks following RAC standards.
  • Offer members professional advice and recommendations based on inspections.
  • Work according to a clear digital schedule with pre-booked appointments.

Work Schedule and Benefits

  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week, core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, including every fourth Saturday.
  • Competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings up to £52,000.
  • Option for guaranteed overtime after the first month, with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Either an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) plus at least 2 years' experience, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
  • Strong technical skills combined with excellent interpersonal abilities to provide reassurance and clear communication with members.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to diverse tasks.
