Role overview
This opening is for an ML Engineer focused on coding-agent workflows. The position is remote and offered on a contract basis, with compensation set at $85 per hour.
What you will do
- Work with advanced AI coding agents to solve and assess demanding machine learning and AI engineering problems.
- Inspect code produced by models across areas such as training pipelines, inference infrastructure, MLOps, and LLM-based products.
- Spot defects, unusual edge cases, performance bottlenecks, and likely failure patterns in AI systems.
- Evaluate and compare results from multiple leading models, noting where each performs well or poorly.
- Use sound engineering judgment to make decisions in realistic machine learning scenarios.
Required background
- At least 2 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering.
- Hands-on exposure to production ML systems, deployment tooling, LLM applications, or AI-powered products.
- Frequent use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to review AI-generated ML code and weigh technical tradeoffs effectively.
Preferred experience
- Prior experience taking ML systems into production.
