Role Overview
Boliden Tara Mines is looking for a proactive and driven surveyor to join the Mine Surveyor Team in Navan, County Meath. This is an important position that reports to the Head of Section for Mine Planning & Scheduling.
The role involves working with current survey equipment, scanners and drone-based tools to measure underground mine excavations accurately.
Key Duties
- Issue instructions to mining teams as required
- Carry out mine surveying and mark up excavations and drill rig navigation points
- Assist mine geology by setting out and surveying drillholes for grade control drilling
- Produce accurate data and volume calculations for month-end and year-end processes
- Take part in weekly and monthly planning meetings when needed
- Use drone and scanner technology effectively to capture survey data
- Maintain and refresh CAD survey records and the survey control database
Required Background and Skills
The company is seeking someone with a Level 8 qualification in surveying or another relevant discipline, along with at least 2 years of experience. Candidates should have hands-on experience with modern mine surveying tools, related software and mine planning systems. Prior exposure to underground mine surveying is an advantage.
Strong accuracy, clear communication in English, good organisation, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. A valid B driving licence is also required.
