The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is a Tribal healthcare organization providing services to nearly 30,000 residents across rural southwest Alaska. This service area includes numerous villages ranging from populations of about 10 to over 1,000 people. Bethel, which hosts the region's only hospital and serves as the regional hub, has a population of approximately 7,000. Position Overview

This role primarily involves handling scheduling telephone calls remotely. Responsibilities include scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments in line with scheduling guidelines. Calls may also be directed to appropriate departments or colleagues professionally. Additional office support is provided to the Case Management Team as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in public-facing roles is preferred; experience with switchboards is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate using simple medical terms to patients effectively.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
• Ability to speak Yup’ik is considered a plus.

Tools and Equipment

Job involves using computers, multiline telephone systems, and standard office equipment such as copiers, printers, and scanners.

Additional Details and Benefits

• This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week.
• The role is remote but based in Alaska.
• Starting pay is $23.37 per hour.
• Position status: Non-exempt.
