Mechanical Technician

Role Overview

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, modifications, overhauls, and installation activities on mechanical machinery following established operating procedures, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines, and quality standards to ensure machines function reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily and scheduled preventive mechanical maintenance tasks according to NOMAC protocols to support seamless plant operations.
• Inspect and monitor machinery condition in the assigned plant area, reporting irregularities to the Mechanical Engineer for timely resolutions aligned with quality and HSE standards.
• Address mechanical failures promptly by implementing corrective measures adhering to organizational procedures to minimize equipment downtime.
• Utilize appropriate tools and spare parts to diagnose issues such as corrosion, cracks, leaks, and failures; perform necessary repairs to ensure continuous operation.
• Identify mechanical malfunctions or failures, performing defective part replacements, adjustments, alignment, lubrication, and cleaning collaboratively with the Mechanical Engineer.
• Interpret technical manuals, mechanical schematics, and machine drawings to aid in maintenance preparation and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of plant equipment and mechanical maintenance principles including waste identification, classification, disposal, and emission monitoring.
• Maintain awareness of HSE and quality standards to ensure compliance during all maintenance activities.
• Collaborate effectively within teams to achieve maintenance objectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Possession of a technical certificate or Associate’s Diploma specializing in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Between three to five years of hands-on experience as a mechanical technician involved in installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems within a plant setting.
