MCP Developer - Agentic AI and Enterprise AI Integration

About the Opportunity

CriticalRiver invites skilled professionals to join as MCP Developers focused on Agentic AI engineering at our Hyderabad location with a hybrid working model. This position offers a chance to lead in designing and deploying enterprise-grade AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, collaborating on transformative AI projects in a technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain robust MCP servers utilizing Python and FastMCP or integration platforms like Workato.
• Manage the end-to-end MCP lifecycle covering functionalities such as tool discovery, JSON-RPC over Streamable HTTP, session handling, and authentication mechanisms.
• Create and deploy AI agents via Google Vertex AI Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Vertex AI Agent Engine, integrating them seamlessly with Gemini Enterprise solutions.
• Implement industry-standard OAuth 2.0 and OIDC authentication flows including Authorization Code Flow, PKCE, refresh token handling, and secure token forwarding per user.
• Build scalable, cloud-native applications incorporating Google Cloud services such as Cloud Run, IAM, and Secret Manager to ensure secure, high-performance deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and refine MCP servers and AI agents in live environments, adhering to enterprise-level security, governance, and best practices emphasizing least-privilege and secret management.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative AI-driven enterprise solutions and create reusable AI integrations, connectors, and accelerators improving development workflow.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 5 to 10 years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in Python programming.
• At least 2 years of specialized experience developing Generative AI, AI Agents, or large language model (LLM) based enterprise applications.
• Practical experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), FastMCP, or comparable AI integration frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of Google Vertex AI technologies including ADK, Agent Engine, and Gemini models.
• Solid understanding and hands-on application of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, PKCE, JWT, and other secure authentication protocols.
• Familiarity with JSON-RPC, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-native app development.
• Experience working extensively with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, IAM, Secret Manager, and handling Service Accounts.
• Awareness of enterprise security considerations and scalable cloud architecture designs for AI applications.
• Advantage: Experience using Workato or other Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) tools, and professional certifications related to Google Cloud or Generative AI.
