Role Overview
The MCC Controller is essential for ensuring the efficient daily functions and safety of aircraft operations. This role involves continuous monitoring of aircraft technical condition, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams, and resolving technical issues swiftly to maintain flight schedules and safety standards. The position acts as a communication bridge between maintenance units and operational staff to reduce aircraft delays and improve overall fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the Aircraft Health Monitoring System (Skywise) to detect existing and recurring defects.
- Initiate Maintenance Action Requests to address troubleshooting and repairs.
- Collaborate with MCC Controller, Line Planning, Line Maintenance, and contracted maintenance teams to coordinate defect resolution.
- Work with AOG Desk and Material Planning to secure necessary materials for repairing defects.
- Engage with Engineering and OEM for guidance on technical issues when standard procedures are insufficient.
- Conduct daily reviews of all MEL/CDL/Time Limited Defects and alternate-day assessments of Deferred Defects/NEFs.
- Identify relevant TSM, raise MAR, or utilize open Work Orders to begin corrective actions.
- Track maintenance progress and continuously check Skywise to confirm defect clearance.
- Provide feedback to Engineering on recurring defects and system failures.
- Support preparation of daily aircraft status reports and participate in daily meetings with stakeholders.
- Assist in analyzing aircraft delays and generating delay reports.
- Maintain records of delays and compile monthly technical dispatch reliability reports for management.
- Ensure the aircraft adhere to agreed standards for deferred defects (MELs and NEFs).
- Prepare, review, and distribute operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Maintain constant communication with IOCC to share operational status updates impacting flights.
- Provide timely updates on events such as delays and AOGs to relevant stakeholders and management.
- Identify process gaps and propose solutions to improve operational procedures.
- Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to optimize department operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a valid license with type rating on Airbus A320/Cfm56 plus Leap 1A engines, minimum Level 3 training.
- At least 7 years of experience in aircraft certification, including minimum 5 years working specifically with the A320 fleet.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in MCC (Maintenance Control Center) operations.
- In-depth knowledge of A320 aircraft systems.
- Advanced understanding of GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation) regulations.
- Proficiency with Airnavx, Airman, and Microsoft Office applications.
