Overview
The Business Development Manager at Julphar is tasked with designing and executing the company's business development strategies to drive financial growth and foster organizational progress. This role involves hands-on implementation of strategic objectives, uncovering new income streams, and ensuring the registration and distribution of products across multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and recommend comprehensive strategies for the entire product lifecycle in collaboration with department heads to meet business targets.
- Source, evaluate, and lead the introduction of new products and market access opportunities globally.
- Establish and nurture professional relationships with government bodies, statutory authorities, and distribution networks to secure competitive advantages.
- Manage contract negotiations, coordinating with cross-functional teams to finalize agreements successfully.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback on competitors and customer needs to support product innovation.
- Plan and advocate for profitable product distribution strategies.
- Oversee product registration processes globally, including forecasting, pricing, and market share estimations.
- Regularly track project progress and produce reports on ongoing strategic initiatives.
Strategic Leadership
- Perform strategic and financial analyses that influence brand decisions and business development activities such as in-licensing, co-promotion, and international growth.
- Deliver routine updates and analytical reports to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify new generic product developments aligned with corporate strategies through market research.
- Enhance customer engagement and usage through innovative programs targeting agents and distributors regionally.
- Facilitate partnerships and licensing agreements within designated countries and regions.
- Exemplify change management, continuous improvement, conflict resolution, and consensus-building skills.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, or Commerce is required; a Master's degree in Business Administration is a significant advantage.
- A minimum of 8-10 years in the pharmaceutical sector, with at least 4 years in a business development managerial role covering MEA and other regions.
- Proven success in securing new business opportunities.
- Expertise in presenting corporate capabilities and negotiating agreements.
- Deep working knowledge of licensor and distributor operations, government accounts, tendering, contracting, and pricing strategies.
- Understanding of clinical pharmaceutical operations, supply chains, dispensing requirements, and drug distribution channels.
- Experience collaborating within diverse and geographically spread teams is preferred.
- Ability to forge strong partnerships with licensors and cross-functional departments such as Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality.
