Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner based in the Limerick region to enhance maintenance operations within a regulated biotechnology manufacturing facility. This full-time role is focused on planning and coordinating electrical, mechanical, and calibration/instrumentation maintenance efforts, ensuring all activities are safely scheduled, accurately documented, and aligned with site procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Provide support to electrical, mechanical, and calibration maintenance teams.
  • Manage maintenance work orders utilizing the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Coordinate resources including labor, materials, spare parts, and equipment.
  • Raise and administer relevant Permits to Work and manage equipment isolation requirements.
  • Assist with maintenance-related deviations, conduct investigations, and implement follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate across Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) departments.
  • Track maintenance schedules, backlogs, and overdue tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation complies with GMP and data integrity standards.
  • Contribute to shutdowns, outages, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a technical qualification or relevant practical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Prior experience in maintenance planning or coordination within an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software applications.
  • Strong organizational capabilities paired with effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GMP standards, Permit-to-Work protocols, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)/Controlled Operations Hazardous Energy (COHE) procedures, and deviation management is beneficial.
