Role summary

This position sits within the Manufacturing Technicians Group and focuses on keeping production equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently to support output, quality, and scrap reduction. It is a staff-level technician role on a permanent 12-hour night shift.

Key scope of work

Lead a team of technicians and support day-to-day equipment sustainment for the production line.
Keep manufacturing tools in good working order to reduce downtime and maintain high productivity.
Handle equipment repair, fault diagnosis, setup, buy-off, type conversion, fine tuning, optimization, modification, enhancement, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
Work with engineers on equipment upgrades and improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

Own maintenance activities for all production equipment within the assigned area.
Tackle assignments that are more complex and require sound judgment and practical problem solving.
Share learned procedures and technical knowledge across similar tools to improve consistency and performance.
Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach the team on completing challenging tasks and assignments.
Create troubleshooting guides for major issues to retain and transfer knowledge.
Train new line technicians on equipment care and working methods.
Participate in equipment improvement efforts such as changes that reduce wafer breakage or improve uptime.
Work independently with minimal supervision, including routine tasks without instructions.
Carry out proper shift handover and pass-down communication.
Execute preventive maintenance and tool calibration on schedule, with records kept current in documents and calibration stickers.
Perform type conversions, fine-tuning, and buy-off activities before equipment is returned to production.
Restore equipment through troubleshooting and repair while keeping downtime as low as possible.
Support engineers with spare parts coordination and management.
Follow CSR, EHS, QM, ESD, 5S, and cleanroom requirements.

Education and experience

Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent technical certificate is required.
At least 4 years of relevant technical experience is expected.
Comfort with computer systems and common software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is needed.

Skills and abilities

Ability to work with little supervision.
Strong troubleshooting and equipment repair capability.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance and type conversion work.
Systematic problem analysis and resolution.
Experience contributing to or leading equipment improvement projects.
Leadership by example and ability to guide technicians.
Level 3 troubleshooting capability on at least one type of equipment.
Good planning, prioritization, multitasking, and deadline management.
