Looker Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Looker Developer to join our team in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This role involves working closely within a cross-functional team focused on reliability engineering and extending expertise in Looker, LookML, and cloud-based data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team, especially around Reliability Engineering practices with SRE governance support.
• Build and maintain LookML semantic models including aggregate awareness, persistent derived tables, and core LookML development integrated with BigQuery.
• Manage access grants and role-based permissions efficiently in Looker.
• Develop and enhance Looker dashboards with automation in testing and continuous integration/deployment setups.
• Engage with API-based frameworks, for example Commerce Tools, to build reliable workflow integrations.
• Create CI/CD workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions combined with BigQuery operations.
• Support and develop desktop and mobile applications as part of broader delivery.
• Work on cloud infrastructure environments, predominantly Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Participate in ongoing improvement by sharing best practices and prioritizing operational excellence.
• Perform technical analysis and troubleshoot complex production issues and incidents.
• Enhance monitoring systems by focusing on preventative measures.
• Automate processes in both development and production using scripting and appropriate tools.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Looker and LookML development.
• Proficiency with BigQuery and cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.
• Knowledge of API-centric frameworks and integration techniques.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions.
• Experience with dashboard automation, access control, and semantic modeling.
• Good understanding of desktop and mobile app development lifecycle.

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with other reporting tools beyond Looker.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as ReactJS, React Native, and NodeJS.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps and cloud environments like Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
• Up-to-date with current technical trends and ability to suggest innovative solutions.
