Position Overview and Schedule
The Logistics Coordinator role is based in New York, NY, requiring onsite presence Monday through Thursday, with Fridays working from home, operating between 10 am and 6 pm. This is a contract position with a minimum duration of five months. The role demands flexibility to accommodate urgent project deadlines, including possible overtime during evenings or weekends.
Interview Process
- Round 1: Virtual interview conducted by the Hiring Manager.
- Round 2: In-person interview with the Senior Director.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation, manufacturing, and materials flow alongside vendors and partners.
- Ensure maintained inventory levels with approved vendors.
- Oversee scheduling and tracking of shipments using Monday.com.
- Support both inbound and outbound transportation functions.
- Negotiate pricing and purchase necessary supplies to reduce costs.
- Arrange delivery schedules to prevent production delays.
- Conduct inventory monitoring and warehouse order audits.
- Generate quality Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports and enforce vendor compliance standards.
- Implement vendor chargebacks when compliance issues occur.
- Manage logistics related to tour shipments and track their status.
- Collaborate effectively across various departments and external warehouse partners.
- Stay informed on current logistics industry trends and share relevant insights.
- Assist in cross-functional projects and perform other operational support as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 2 years of experience in logistics or operations roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related discipline preferred.
- Prior experience with order management and customer service tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Ability to analyze and utilize data to guide decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work autonomously and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Experience and Additional Skills
- Background in consumer products, retail operations, or e-commerce logistics.
- Experience in transportation and logistics management.
- Knowledge of in-house warehousing and distribution processes.
- Familiarity with Monday.com for workflow and project management.
- Understanding of FedEx Advanced Shipment Tracking and UPS Quantum View for shipment monitoring.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, including workflow creation and user assistance tools.
- Strong organizational and collaborative skills to manage documentation and coordinate cross-functional activities effectively.
