Role overview

This position is responsible for keeping laundry and linen operations running smoothly at the hotel. The role supports day-to-day housekeeping standards by cleaning, processing, and preparing linens, garments, and related guest items to the property's quality expectations.

Key duties

• Be ready to work a flexible roster, which may include weekends, holidays, and changing shifts, depending on business needs.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality in all assigned tasks.
• Follow all house rules, safety guidelines, housekeeping room procedures, and security requirements.
• Work closely with managers and supervisors to complete requests quickly and efficiently.
• Select and use the correct cleaning chemicals in line with OSHA rules and hotel standards.
• Use required personal protective equipment according to hotel policies and procedures.
• Sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens.
• Check linens for stains or damage and either reject or reclaim them as appropriate.
• Repair and sew linens when needed.
• Prepare and fill linen requests for banquets and restaurants.
• Deliver guest service supplies to guest rooms.
• Handle linens that are cleaned by outside contractors.
• Replenish housekeeping closets and carts.
• Provide towels to recreation areas.

Additional responsibilities

Operate laundry and dry-cleaning equipment to process bed linens, terry items, and table linens in accordance with hotel standards. Clean, press, and finish staff and guest clothing, along with assigned guest-room fabrics and other designated articles.

Qualifications

• You should be able to communicate clearly with guests, managers, and co-workers in a way they understand.
• English and Spanish bilingual ability is an advantage.
• Familiarity with laundry and dry-cleaning machinery, along with safe chemical handling, is required.
• Knowledge of finishing methods for different fabric types is needed.
