Overview
Raise is seeking a Junior Project Manager on behalf of a leading North American energy infrastructure company operating across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta, and involves managing regulated maintenance programs and capital projects across key facilities and infrastructure. The position offers a contract length of 16 months with a pay rate ranging from $52.65 to $62.15 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants may be considered under T4 or INC classifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects involving process safety-critical equipment, ensuring safe and compliant execution.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver regulated maintenance and capital projects from start to finish, maintaining schedules, budgets, and compliance with regulations.
- Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations while collaborating with Project Controls to set baselines and forecasts.
- Monitor ongoing project progress and take corrective measures as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead and manage external consultants, contractors, and service providers.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams such as Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to facilitate seamless project completion.
- Organize and direct field resources to optimize workflows and support implementation.
- Manage project risks, issues, changes, and maintain alignment among stakeholders through effective communication.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures, process improvements, and efficiencies to enhance operational performance.
- Analyze project data to improve asset integrity and resource use, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practices.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of project management experience, especially in capital projects, maintenance programs, or industrial operations.
- Background in managing projects within energy, utilities, industrial, pipeline, or infrastructure sectors.
- Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to handle multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to regulated facilities or infrastructure programs.
- Familiarity with process safety management and maintenance program requirements.
- Experience engaging with Project Controls for cost forecasting and scheduling.
- Hands-on knowledge of project management software systems such as SAP or Primavera.
- PMP certification or active progress towards obtaining it is considered advantageous.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement and optimizing costs.
