Position Overview

The Junior Mortgage Loan Processor will contribute to the mortgage department by assisting in preparation and review of loan files before underwriting and closing. Designed for those with under two years of experience in mortgage processing, this role supports maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating communication among involved parties, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards, all under the guidance of the Mortgage Branch Manager and senior processors.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, scrutinize, and arrange borrower documents necessary for loan processing.
• Input and update data within the loan origination system to keep loan files current.
• Conduct initial document reviews to confirm completeness and adherence to compliance requirements.
• Follow up with loan officers, clients, and external parties to collect outstanding documentation.
• Support the preparation of loan files for underwriting submissions.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments to facilitate smooth loan progress and timely closings.
• Track pipeline reports and timelines ensuring efficient workflow management.
• Maintain thorough records and assist in keeping loan files audit-ready.
• Comply with company policies and industry regulations in managing documents and communications.
• Offer support to senior processors and branch personnel with additional administrative duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; preferably some college coursework in business or finance.
• Less than two years of experience in mortgage loan processing or related financial sectors.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of loan documents and mortgage-specific terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn loan origination software.

This position is based onsite in Jacksonville Beach, FL.

Additional Information

Position classification includes Full-Time or Part-Time options, with hourly non-exempt status. The role reports directly to the Mortgage Branch Manager within the Mortgage Operations Department.
