Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer experienced in Microsoft Azure production environments who also has foundational knowledge of full-stack application architecture. This position involves deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining modern web applications leveraging technologies such as Next.js, NestJS, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker. The infrastructure is predominantly hosted on Microsoft Azure, with occasional workload migration to VPS servers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and operate production applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.
- Deploy and resolve issues with Next.js, NestJS, Node.js, and FastAPI applications.
- Administer Azure services including App Services, PostgreSQL databases, Redis, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, and network components.
- Use Docker and Docker Compose to containerize applications.
- Configure Nginx reverse proxy servers including SSL certificates and custom domain setups.
- Deploy and maintain applications on Ubuntu/Linux VPS platforms.
- Execute migrations of applications from Azure to VPS with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and fix production issues spanning infrastructure and application layers.
- Monitor infrastructure health, log files, application status, and deployments.
- Keep infrastructure documentation and deployment runbooks current.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least six months of production experience using Microsoft Azure.
- Proficient with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline creation and management.
- Hands-on knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience with Ubuntu/Linux server administration.
- Ability to configure Nginx as a reverse proxy.
- PostgreSQL and Redis database management skills.
- Basic understanding of deploying applications built with Next.js, NestJS, Node.js, or FastAPI.
- Competence in managing environment variables, secret management, and application configuration.
- Fluency with Git and GitHub workflows.
- Familiarity with networking principles including DNS, SSL, firewall rules, ports, and CORS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in debugging live application issues in production.
- Knowledge of Azure Front Door or Azure CDN services.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
- Exposure to Cloudflare services.
- Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python.
- Experience collaborating with full-stack development teams.

The ideal candidate enjoys working across both infrastructure and application deployment domains, understands the structure of contemporary web applications, and is comfortable troubleshooting issues across frontend, backend, databases, and infrastructure. Collaboration with developers to maintain dependable production releases is essential.
