Junior Data Analyst (Entry / Junior Level)

Role overview

Organisation des Professionnels de la Sécurité Événementielle (OPSE) is hiring a part-time Junior Data Analyst to work remotely from California, United States. This position is designed to support decisions driven by data in the context of event security operations.

What you will do

In this role, you will help gather, clean, and structure data from both internal and external sources. You will also carry out basic analysis, build reports and dashboards, and create visual representations of key performance indicators that inform day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.

You will work closely with team members to clarify data needs, record analysis methods and conclusions, and keep documentation and reporting outputs accurate and organized. Another part of the role is to spot patterns, irregularities, and process improvement opportunities using structured datasets.

Skills and qualifications

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, a solid foundation in data analytics, and a good understanding of statistics. You should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, performing simple queries, and using visualization tools.

You should also be able to communicate insights clearly, prepare short reports, and collaborate with people who may not have a technical background. Familiarity with data modeling is useful for organizing data in a way that supports reliable analysis and reporting.

Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets is required at a minimum, while exposure to SQL or business intelligence tools will be considered an added advantage. Success in this role also depends on being self-directed, managing time well in a remote setup, and handling several tasks carefully and efficiently.

Preferred background

Relevant study in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a similar field is preferred. An interest in event management, public safety, or security operations will be beneficial.
