IT Security Governance Officer

Job Summary

This role is focused on steering information security governance, risk, and compliance activities for the organization. The selected professional will help shape and enforce security policies, keep cybersecurity practices aligned with regulations and global frameworks, oversee risk treatment, coordinate audits, and strengthen the wider cybersecurity governance structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and administer information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain alignment with cybersecurity regulations and recognized control frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and COBIT.
• Carry out security risk assessments and track the progress of corrective actions.
• Arrange and support internal and external audits, along with compliance reviews.
• Oversee security controls, manage vendor compliance checks, and prepare governance reports.
• Contribute to cybersecurity awareness programs and incident governance processes.
• Work closely with teams across IT, Risk, Legal, and other business functions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a closely related subject is required.
• Between 4 and 7 years of experience in information security governance, GRC, or cybersecurity.
• Solid understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, and cybersecurity compliance obligations.
• Hands-on experience with risk management, policy drafting, and audit coordination.
• Professional credentials such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are an advantage.
• Experience working in government or the public sector would be beneficial.
