IT Operations Engineer

Role Summary

Seeking a skilled IT Operations Engineer to architect, implement, automate, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure and operations. The role requires proficiency in infrastructure automation, configuration management, virtualization, cloud platforms, monitoring, and log management to guarantee system robustness, scalability, security, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and sustain enterprise IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud settings.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure components.
• Monitor system health, availability, and performance utilizing enterprise-grade monitoring and logging tools.
• Administer virtualization platforms and private cloud environments.
• Investigate infrastructure issues, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve operational incidents.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and configuration management best practices.
• Work collaboratively with DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to support dependable system operations.
• Oversee backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high availability frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to security policies, governance, and operational standards.
• Develop and maintain operational documents, runbooks, and technical procedures.

Essential Skills

• Practical experience using ELK Stack or Elasticsearch for log management and observability.
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible for implementing Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Expertise with VMware vCenter or OpenStack for managing virtualization and private clouds.
• Strong Linux and Windows Server system administration skills.
• Proficient in Shell scripting or Python for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of networking basics including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Load Balancing.
• Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident handling.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
• Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD workflow.
• Understanding of ITIL frameworks and service management principles.
• Awareness of security hardening, identity management, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
• Experience range from 6 months upwards in IT Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems or Platform Administration, or Cloud Operations.
