About the role
BMW Group is looking for an intern to join the residual value risk team at BMW Financial Services in Munich. This team works on a strategic risk area that begins once vehicles leave production and enter the leased-car cycle. You will be part of a young, data-focused group that uses modern analytical techniques to support decisions in a global automotive environment.
What you will do
- Help build and apply machine learning models that forecast future used-car prices for BMW vehicles.
- Support the use of agentic AI in everyday workflows and processes.
- Analyze datasets from multiple markets and turn findings into practical recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of new analytical tools that improve understanding of the car market.
- Take part in discussions and learning opportunities around how premium vehicles are assessed across global markets.
What you need
- You are currently studying computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a similar subject.
- You have strong working knowledge of two of these tools: Python, R, and SQL, along with experience building supervised learning models.
- You understand statistics well and can apply it to modeling tasks.
- You are very comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- You are motivated to keep learning about developments in the global electric car market.
- You bring strong analytical thinking.
- You communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written; German is an advantage.
