About the Role
Aether Aerospace is hiring a Functional Area Analyst II to assist the Office of the Secretary of War's Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation Joint Data Support team located in the National Capital Region. The position focuses on intelligence evaluations, strategic assessments, and future force planning concerning non-U.S. military forces, allied and partner nation capabilities, operational settings, and near-peer adversaries. This job will be based on-site at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, verify, and maintain data involving non-U.S. military forces, units, equipment, and infrastructures.
- Conduct intelligence analysis related to allied, partner, and near-peer military capabilities and operational contexts.
- Create and update databases that track historical, current, and forecasted foreign force structures and capabilities.
- Coordinate with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense personnel to aid in data collection and analytical activities.
- Document data quality, handle classification protocols, and track source reliability for intelligence datasets.
- Develop customized datasets to support studies, simulation exercises, and various analytic projects.
- Research foreign military capacities, operational trends, and strategic threat landscapes.
- Assist in preparing briefings, technical reports, presentations, and other materials supporting study efforts.
- Respond swiftly to urgent requests, data calls, and on-demand intelligence analysis needs.
- Engage in strategic analysis and future force planning aligned with Department-level projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must hold an active SECRET clearance; eligibility for TOP SECRET/SCI clearance is preferred.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience linked to intelligence analysis, military operational analysis, defense analytics, force structure assessments, or comparable Department of Defense roles.
- Knowledgeable about non-U.S. military capabilities, operational environments, or strategic threat evaluation.
- Experience handling defense-related datasets, databases, or intelligence information is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong skills in analysis, research, and communication.
- Able to function effectively in high-tempo, mission-critical analytical settings.
