Job Overview

We are looking for an Intellectual Property Manager based in Mumbai who can provide precise evaluations of patent data and actively support a variety of IP-related tasks. The role centers on patent analytics, leveraging AI tools, and advising on patentability.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract and analyze data from patent and non-patent sources to derive meaningful insights.
• Utilize AI-driven intellectual property tools to enhance evaluation processes.
• Assess inventions to offer opinions on patentability.
• Recommend alternative designs for inventions that cannot be patented.
• Analyze patent documents to develop comprehensive technological landscape reports.
• Review patent drafts and define the scope of patent claims.
• Assist in drafting patents and reviewing responses to patent examination reports.
• Evaluate external publications to ensure intellectual property compliance.
• Support claim overlap studies and standard mapping exercises.
• Create content aimed at increasing IP awareness and assist in conducting training sessions.
• Compile necessary data to assist in IP audits.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of 4G, 5G, and 6G telecommunication technologies, including wireless systems, chipsets, and TCP/IP layers.
• Familiarity with cloud computing, devices, and media delivery technologies.
• Knowledge of the intellectual property regulations in India, with preferred familiarity with US and EPO laws.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel features like macros and formulas, along with AI-powered IP search tools.

Experience and Educational Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science) or a master's degree in science focusing on Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• Patent agent certification, diploma in IP, or an LLB with IP specialization (from IIT KGP preferred) would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in technology and intellectual property fields.
