Improvement Practice Support Officer - Division

Role Overview

This position is part of the service development, improvement, and delivery function at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, dedicated to supporting the Trust's vision for Safe, Personal and Effective care as outlined in its Strategy and medium-term plan. The Improvement Practice Support Officer will engage in delivering and applying the Improvement Practice (SPE+) across Divisions by aiding in the implementation and execution of improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule specific improvement projects aligning with established priorities and programmes within Divisions, potentially affecting multiple Departments, Directorates, and other Divisions.
• Track and monitor the advancement of designated improvement initiatives, supporting adjustments to plans as necessary and providing status updates.
• Employ project management tools such as Improvement A3s to ensure project progress, raise issues where needed, and assist senior team members in compiling and presenting information on Executive Improvement Walls and via Care Group cascades.
• Analyze various types of delivery, performance, quality, financial, and personnel data related to improvement efforts to help identify actionable options.
• Maintain and update relevant information systems that track Improvement Programmes and specific projects.

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has a strong record of performance and continues its financial recovery with a well-established improvement practice led by the Improvement Hub Team and supported by Service Development and Strategy functions. The Trust's Programme Management Office, established in 2025, is now integrated with these teams to facilitate the delivery of the new Trust Strategy, presenting an exciting opportunity to contribute to this ongoing improvement journey.
