Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual for the position of House Keeper within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Chemotherapy Day Unit. This role involves working five days a week, with some duties performed at our recently expanded South Bristol unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functioning as a vital member of the ward team, managing all patient-related facilities and services.
  • Ordering stocks, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring clinic rooms and trolleys are adequately equipped.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, while performing various non-clinical duties.
  • Coordinating catering, cleaning, and ward supply deliveries.
  • Overseeing minor repairs and maintenance to fulfill ward requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with support services, Facilities Management, and other departments.
  • Opening the department each morning by greeting patients and visitors.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness through checklists and assisting nursing teams with new projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong communication skills and logical, organized work approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in IT.

Working Hours and Conditions

The role offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 8 AM to 4 PM, with no weekends or night shifts. Occasional work during Bank Holidays may be required.
