Role Overview

The Hotel General Manager will oversee the total operations of Hotel Sun-Shine Inn, ensuring seamless coordination among departments to deliver superior guest experiences while maintaining financial robustness. This leadership role demands strategic oversight of all functional units including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.

Daily Operations and Guest Relations

• Coordinate activities across various hotel departments to uphold high service quality standards.
• Serve as the chief representative of the hotel, warmly welcoming VIP guests.
• Manage resolution of escalated guest issues, ensuring effective recovery actions.
• Regularly inspect guest rooms and all public and service areas for quality assurance.

Financial Management and Strategy

• Develop, present, and track the annual budget and capital expenditure proposals.
• Interpret and analyze profit/loss reports, occupancy metrics, and develop revenue strategies.
• Oversee operational expenses by introducing cost-saving initiatives without compromising service levels.
• Define and pursue short- and long-term objectives to grow market share and profits.

Staff Leadership and Human Resources

• Manage recruitment processes including interviewing, hiring, and training department leads and essential staff.
• Establish performance targets, provide employee coaching, and facilitate team meetings.
• Foster a positive workplace atmosphere and effectively address staffing challenges.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure adherence to applicable health, fire safety, and labor laws.
• Maintain and enforce safety standards; liaise with external contractors for certifications of equipment.
