Position Overview
We are conducting a recruitment initiative for our Parks and Gardens team with several full-time permanent and temporary opportunities at our Footscray location. The team is committed to maintaining and elevating the municipality's parks, gardens, sportsgrounds, streetscapes, and open spaces to create safe, attractive, and sustainable environments that enhance community wellbeing and liveability.
Key Duties
- Perform high-quality horticultural maintenance and improvement tasks including mowing, brushcutting, watering, pruning, planting, mulching, and controlling weeds.
- Contribute to the planning and scheduling of seasonal maintenance and enhancement activities.
- Operate as part of a coordinated team to deliver programs efficiently across multiple sites.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens.
- Possess comprehensive experience in horticulture and parks maintenance across various locations.
- Proven ability to adhere to horticultural maintenance programs, report completed work, and plan future tasks.
- Safe operation and maintenance of horticultural tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Hold a valid Medium Rigid Driver's License.
- Maintain a valid and unrestricted Working with Children Check as mandated for role duties.
- Clear Police Check with no relevant criminal record.

This recruitment campaign includes multiple vacancies at Band 4 (salary range from $78,716 to $83,234 annually plus 12% superannuation).
