Head of Service Delivery

About the Role

Neurodiversity Ireland is seeking an experienced Head of Service Delivery to lead the design, growth, and daily management of its clinical operations. Reporting to the CEO, this senior leadership position integrates clinical practice oversight with risk and policy management, ensuring the organisation's multi-disciplinary services adhere to a neuroaffirmative, child-focused model while scaling to meet present and future HSE contract commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the growth, transformation, and innovation of the organisation's service delivery as it expands.
• Develop and implement the NDI Thrive Therapy approach, promoting monthly child engagement, accessible family resources, and reduced administrative tasks for clinicians.
• Lead telehealth service rollout, setting standards, technology requirements, and governance for remote clinical care.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary programming to maximize collaboration across clinical disciplines.
• Expand services to include psychology, physiotherapy, and related fields, growing AAC services with additional trained staff.
• Maintain overall clinical leadership of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring high standards based on evidence and neuroaffirmative best practices.
• Uphold and evolve the Practice Framework and National Autism Practice Standards.
• Drive continual service enhancements focused on clinical effectiveness and positive outcomes for service users.
• Oversee clinical and multidisciplinary team risk management, including incident review and escalation.
• Lead safeguarding and governance compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
• Act as the organisation’s Risk & Policy Lead, managing clinical risk registers and policy updates.
• Ensure all clinical policies remain current and aligned with best practice and regulations.
• Represent clinical risk and governance issues to executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
• Serve as the main clinical liaison with the HSE on risk and governance matters.
• Manage all clinical and related staff, including certification and continuing professional development paths to support recruitment, retention, and career advancement.
• Provide direct management and clinical supervision to senior clinical staff.
• Engage with HR and CRM systems to keep service delivery and workforce data accurate.
• Collaborate with government bodies and policy stakeholders related to service delivery.
• Coordinate with educational agencies such as the National Council for Special Education for alignment and integration.
• Contribute to strategic and operational planning for the multidisciplinary team.
• Lead, mentor, and build a cohesive, neuroaffirmative, collaborative service delivery team, planning workforce scaling from 9 to about 30 support staff.

Person Specification

• Possess a relevant clinical qualification (Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology, or an allied health discipline) with current registration as applicable.
• Have substantial leadership or senior management experience within multidisciplinary health, disability, or children's service environments.
• Demonstrate expertise in clinical governance, risk management, and safeguarding within regulated services.
• Proven track record leading service transformations, expansions, or organizational change initiatives.
• Strong ability to manage stakeholders including statutory agencies, funders, and government departments.
• Understand and support neuroaffirmative, child-led service delivery models.
• Telehealth service design and delivery experience is advantageous.
• Experience in Section 38/39 or HSE-funded organisations is beneficial.
• Knowledge of governmental and educational structures relating to children with additional needs is desirable.
• Postgraduate education or professional experience in healthcare management or leadership is a plus.

Additional Details

Location: Primary workplace at 2-4 Claremont Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4, with required travel to other Neurodiversity Ireland sites.

Contract: Permanent full-time position at 40 hours per week.

Management: Direct reports include Senior Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Communication Specialist, Clinical Administrator, Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologist (part-time), and support staff (currently 9, projected increase to approximately 29).

Salary: €100,000 annually.
