Serving millions including individuals, startups, and large enterprises, Notion aims to amplify work efficiency by integrating AI and human collaboration seamlessly.

Role Summary

The Head of Early Career Recruiting will lead and expand Notion's strategy for recruiting emerging talent across the organization beyond engineering. This leader will collaborate with company executives and external university and talent networks to attract early career professionals who demonstrate strong skills and align with Notion’s values. This position is based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office presence required on anchor days—Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday—to foster team synergy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive global early career recruiting plan covering internships, new graduate hiring, and entry-level career pathways across multiple functions and regions.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-achieving team of early talent recruiters, driving consistent performance and growth.
  • Advise senior leadership with data-driven insights on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and emerging talent pipelines from campus to early career stages.
  • Champion the integration of AI technologies and automation to enhance sourcing, selection, and hiring efficiency within early career recruitment.
  • Continuously refine recruitment programs, processes, and frameworks to accelerate hiring without compromising on candidate quality, including optimizing internship conversions and offer practices.
  • Define and monitor critical recruitment metrics such as conversion rates, hire quality, sourcing channels, and offer timelines to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and storytelling teams to position Notion as an employer of choice to early career candidates, enhancing outreach and engagement.
  • Work alongside internal ambassador programs to build community and advocacy networks that convert into recruitment pipelines.

Candidate Profile and Required Skills

  • Minimum four years’ leadership experience focused on early career recruitment, including university programs, internships, and early professional hiring across various departments.
  • Innovative understanding of attracting and evaluating early talent through novel approaches such as coding challenges, trial projects, and tailored outreach methods.
  • Proven experience building and scaling effective early career recruitment teams within dynamic, growth-oriented organizations.
  • Strong strategic orientation coupled with hands-on execution ability during intense recruitment periods.
  • Analytical proficiency in leveraging recruitment data to optimize conversion rates, funnel health, program effectiveness, and team efficiency.
  • Trusted partner to executives, with substantial market knowledge to guide talent investment and hiring decisions.
  • Dedicated AI-first mindset with enthusiasm for leveraging contemporary tools and advancing AI adoption among recruiting teams.
  • In-depth awareness of compensation trends, labor market dynamics, and partnership ecosystems involving universities, coding bootcamps, and other talent sources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in program management or talent development, particularly in creating structured early career experiences like rotational programs or mentorship initiatives.
  • Proven history of applying AI-driven workflows to transform early career recruiting processes beyond basic tool usage.
  • Demonstrated success in diversity recruiting efforts targeting institutions such as HBCUs, community colleges, or underrepresented groups with measurable impact.
  • Established network within university recruiting and early career talent communities.

Compensation and Diversity Commitment

Notion offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges depending on location, role scope, and candidate experience, with an estimated base salary range of $225,000 to $275,000 per year for San Francisco or New York City based roles.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodations

Notion is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. The company does not discriminate based on legally protected characteristics and provides reasonable accommodations during the hiring process. Candidates with diverse backgrounds, including those with arrest or conviction records, are encouraged to apply. Candidates requiring accommodations should inform their recruiter.
