Overview
This role involves performing essential tasks within a greenhouse environment to support plant cultivation and maintenance. The position requires physical effort and attention to detail in a dynamic setting.
Languages & Education
- Proficiency in English is necessary.
- No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
Experience & Training
Prior experience is not necessary as training will be provided.
Working Location
All work duties must be carried out on site at the physical greenhouse location; remote work is not permitted.
Work Environment
- The workplace is often wet and damp.
- Temperatures may be hot within the greenhouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning crops and the greenhouse area.
- Managing climate control systems.
- Weeding and soil preparation including mixing soils.
- Planting bulbs, seeds, and potting or repotting plants.
- Transplanting seedlings or cuttings as necessary.
- Monitoring plants to report any insect infestations or disease signs.
- Watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and gardens.
- Keeping the work area tidy.
Additional Information - Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
- The position involves a fast-paced workflow with repetitive tasks.
- Physical demands include handling heavy objects (up to 23 kg or 50 lbs), standing for long periods, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- High attention to detail is critical to success in this role.
