Role Overview
The General Practitioner (GP) position involves delivering comprehensive primary healthcare, encompassing evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention across diverse patient groups. The GP is integral to promoting wellness, managing chronic conditions, coordinating care pathways, and offering an outstanding patient experience, adhering to M42's clinical excellence framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary healthcare across all age ranges.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, physical exams, and medical evaluations.
- Identify and treat acute and chronic medical issues.
- Create and follow individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress.
- Prescribe treatment and medications following clinical guidelines and regulations.
- Encourage preventive health measures including screenings, vaccinations, and education.
- Recognize cases needing referral to specialists and ensure care continuity.
- Analyze lab, radiology, and diagnostic outcomes.
- Manage typical medical emergencies and stabilize patients as necessary.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation.
- Comply with infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to organizational efficiency in resource utilization.
- Participate in scheduled shifts and on-call rotations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Medical degree such as MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited internship.
- Current eligibility or possession of a valid Department of Health License as a General Practitioner.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years post-internship clinical experience.
- Background in primary care, family medicine, emergency medicine, or internal medicine.
- Strong clinical evaluation and decision-making competencies.
- Effective communication skills and ability to engage patients.
- Dedication to compassionate, patient-oriented care.
